Mr Junior Davies

I have wanted to be a teacher since my own school days, driven by a belief in the transformative power of education. I graduated from Chichester University in 2010 with a degree in Physical Education and Teaching (QTS), before discovering a passion for Mathematics early in my career, which led me to specialize in the subject.

Prior to joining The Academy Selsey, I spent over a decade teaching in Portsmouth, where I developed extensive middle leadership experience as both a Progress/Attainment Leader and a Head of Year. These roles gave me invaluable insights into whole-school pastoral care and academic tracking.

I joined The Academy Selsey in 2021, initially serving as Head of Maths and Assistant Headteacher for Data and Assessment. In my current role on the Senior Leadership Team, I am proud to lead on Attendance and Pupil Premium. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every single student (regardless of their background) has the support, resources, and encouragement they need to attend school regularly and reach their full potential.

I am delighted to be part of the leadership team here, where our daily work truly mirrors my personal educational philosophy: Pride in Excellence.
