Headteacher
I feel incredibly privileged to be the Headteacher of The Academy Selsey and proud of the significant progress we have made together in recent years. Since taking on the role, the school has become the school of choice for our local community, with applications consistently exceeding available places and the school being oversubscribed for a number of years. Alongside this, we have seen year-on-year improvements in student outcomes, reflecting our unwavering commitment to high standards and excellence.
I graduated from the University of Chichester with a BA (Hons) in Physical Education with Coaching Science and Psychology, alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Over the past 25 years, I have held a variety of senior leadership positions across Hampshire, gaining extensive experience in school improvement and educational leadership.
Before joining The Academy Selsey, I worked as a Head of Department in a Southampton secondary school and later spent many years as a Deputy Headteacher in Gosport. During my career, I achieved the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), completed several National College leadership programmes, and had the privilege of presenting at national conferences on behalf of the Youth Sport Trust.
At The Academy Selsey, we are committed to providing an exceptional education and a wide range of opportunities that enable every student to flourish academically, socially, and personally. Our success is built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared ambition for every young person to achieve their very best.
I am proud of what we have accomplished together and excited about the future. Working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and wider community, I look forward to continuing to build on our successes and ensuring that every student leaves The Academy Selsey ready to thrive in the next stage of their journey.
