The Academy, Selsey celebrate the premiere of "Selsey Pavilion - The Journey So Far" – a documentary the students created.

What an incredible night for TKAT's The Academy, Selsey. Last Thursday,12 June, some of their talented students attended the premiere of "Selsey Pavilion - The Journey So Far" – a documentary they created.

Over the past year, a group of 20 students, ranging from Year 8 to Year 10, have worked in partnership with Millstream Film Company on a historical documentary about the Selsey Pavilion, as part of its exciting restoration project. Under the inspiring guidance of staff lead, Emma Reeves, the students had full creative control, from directing to interviewing local voices, and the result is nothing short of extraordinary.

The maturity, professionalism, and storytelling skill on display was incredibly moving and a true credit to the students, Emma, and The Academy. After more than 50 years, the Selsey Pavilion reopened its doors for one unforgettable evening of cinema magic.

This project is an exceptional example of how creative, community-linked projects can give students a real sense of purpose and pride. Please take a moment to watch their incredible work!
